Lab Technician (6291)

Our client, a global market leader in the production and process support of active pharmaceutical ingredients, both in the chemical and biotechnology sectors, is looking for a Lab Technician for a 6 months contract. The job is located in Basel, Switzerland.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Perform laboratory tests or other laboratory work using conventional and computerized machines and work aids.
  2. Determine chemical and physical characteristics or composition.
  3. Perform laboratory work and tests according to prescribed standards.
  4. Set up, readjust, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments.
  5. Analyze samples for a variety of compound classes, including small molecules, oligonucleotides, and proteins, using HPLC-UV, HPLC-MS, SFC, GC-FID, GC-MS, LC-MS, and RapidFire-MS.
  6. Interpret analytical data, utilizing statistical tools as needed.
  7. Document analytical raw data using a specific LIMS system to track samples and analyses.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Relevant Swiss working/residency permit and/or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required
  2. A degree or apprenticeship in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field.
  3. Excellent communication, reporting, and scientific skills.
  4. Detail oriented with excellent ability to interpret complex analytical data.
  5. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  6. Enthusiastic and open-minded combined with good inter-personal skills.
  7. Willingness to learn and carry out new and complex tasks.
  8. Proactive attitude.
  9. Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
