Employment Type: Full-time Join a team of physicists and engineers working on the development of detector concepts for the FCC-ee physics program. You will be responsible for developing simulation software to model the performance of MAPS sensors, used in the vertex detectors of several detector concepts. You will also contribute to the development of a novel Tracker concept entirely based on MAPS technology. Your responsibilities Develop a detailed simulation of the MAPS response, covering various options for sensor design and readout parameters. Evaluate and optimise the performance of a full-MAPS Tracker concept. Possibly contribute to the evaluation of MAPS prototypes. Your profile Solid background in experimental particle physics; Experience in the development of reconstruction software and data analysis; Knowledge of silicon detector technologies; Familiarity with Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (MAPS) would be an asset. Skills Strong programming skills, with proficiency in at least Python and C++. Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French. Eligibility criteria You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State. You have a professional background in Experimental Particle Physics (or a related field) and have either: a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience; or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience. You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
