We are looking for a Claims Expert – Liability to join our team in Lausanne. This role involves handling complex liability claims across various sectors, ensuring prompt and fair settlements while maintaining high service standards. As part of a leading direct insurer, you will play a key role in managing claims efficiently, collaborating with clients, brokers, and internal teams to deliver tailored solutions.

1. Manage and assess liability claims, including General Liability, Product Liability, and Professional Liability, from initial notification to resolution.
2. Conduct in-depth investigations, review policy coverage, and determine appropriate claim outcomes.
3. Negotiate settlements directly with claimants, brokers, and legal representatives.
4. Collaborate with underwriting and risk management teams to ensure accurate assessment of liability exposures.
5. Handle claims-related litigation, including working with external legal counsel when necessary.
6. Monitor claims trends and provide feedback to improve underwriting guidelines and risk control measures.
7. Maintain compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
8. Prepare and present detailed reports on claims developments and portfolio performance to senior management.

1. Language: Fluent in English & German (written and spoken); French is a plus.
2. Solid experience in handling liability claims, preferably within direct insurance or a legal/claims consultancy environment.
3. Strong knowledge of Swiss liability laws and international liability insurance practices.
4. Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
5. Strong analytical abilities with a detail-oriented approach to claims assessment.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders.
7. Relevant educational background (degree in law, insurance, or a related field).
