PSI employs 2,300 people, including a fourth of its staff who are post‑docs, post‑graduates or apprentices.Position OverviewFor the section Expertise and Analyses within the Department of Radiation Safety and Security, we are looking for a Physicist. This is a fixed‑term position with a 3‑year employment contract.ResponsibilitiesConcept development, organization, execution, evaluation, and interpretation of radiation protection measurement campaigns at PSI and external facilities, primarily within an international project collaboration.Preparation of radiation protection assessments (potentially using simulation tools).Development of radiation protection concepts (e.g., for clearance measurements or characterization of radioactive materials) and methods for measuring ionizing radiation according to the needs of the section.Preparation of technical reports, quality‑management documents, and scientific publications.Presentation of results at specialist meetings and international conferences.Performing work in supervised and controlled radiation areas.QualificationsUniversity degree in Physics or Engineering, preferably with a PhD.Solid expertise in radiation protection, radiation physics, and radiation detection and measurement.
