As a Database Administrator (DBA) specializing in PostgreSQL, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing our database systems. Experience with Oracle is a plus. You will play a critical role in ensuring data availability, reliability, and security while supporting our Agile development methodology. You will work closely with our development and infrastructure teams to deliver high-performance, scalable, and reliable database solutions.

Requirements:

1. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Database Administrator with a strong focus on PostgreSQL.
2. Experience with Oracle database administration is a plus.
3. Proficiency in database design, installation, and maintenance.
4. In-depth knowledge of SQL and database query optimization.
5. Experience working in Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
6. Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
7. Knowledge of cloud-based database services is a plus.
8. PostgreSQL and Oracle certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities:

1. Database Management: Manage and administer PostgreSQL and Oracle databases, including installation, configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
2. Data Security: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect sensitive data, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
3. Database Monitoring: Monitor database health, performance, and availability. Proactively address issues and implement scaling strategies as needed.
4. Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and recovery plans, ensuring data is consistently backed up and recoverable in case of data loss or system failure.
5. Database Optimization: Identify and implement performance optimization strategies, including query optimization, indexing, and system tuning for PostgreSQL and Oracle.
6. Scalability: Collaborate with the development team to plan for database scalability as the application grows.
7. Automation: Automate routine database maintenance tasks to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
8. Agile Methodology: Work closely with cross-functional Agile teams to support fast-paced development cycles and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
9. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database systems, configurations, and processes.
