THE COMPANY:

Our client, established in 1974 by a pair of engineering graduates from a prestigious technical university in Turin, specializes in Numerical Controls for machine tools and high-speed milling machines, primarily serving the automotive and aerospace industries. Known for its commitment to innovation, the company allocates over 10% of its turnover to research and development, ensuring its products meet the highest standards of precision and productivity. With a robust global presence and a network of subsidiaries providing prompt after-sales service, the company has been publicly listed on a major stock exchange since 2001, highlighting its significant growth and sustained market influence.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The successful candidate will play a critical role in expanding the company’s operations into new niches by identifying and integrating startups. The main goal is to lead the company’s growth trajectory through strategic business development initiatives, utilizing deep industry knowledge and visionary leadership skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide strategic direction, foster innovation, and cultivate a high-performance culture within the team.
  2. Identify opportunities for global expansion and drive initiatives to capitalize on them. A hands-on approach and motivation for growth are essential for achieving the company's objectives.
  3. Possess a strong understanding of technical operations, specifically in areas where technology acquisition is a focus. Familiarity with specific machinery types, such as milling machines, is crucial.
  4. Have a background in business development within the machinery sector, with an emphasis on areas beyond traditional focuses.
  5. Bring a unique perspective from the control sector, with experience in selling controls and understanding client needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Proven track record in business development, particularly in integrating new technologies or startups within a larger corporate structure.
  2. Deep industry knowledge in the machinery sector, particularly with an understanding of both current market trends and potential areas for expansion.
  3. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and lead a team towards achieving strategic objectives.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to negotiate and persuade stakeholders at all levels.
  5. Strategic thinker with a robust analytical mindset, able to solve complex problems and make data-driven decisions.
