Purpose of the role
As an addition to our Customer Unit Market Access, based in our Citybay site in Lucerne, Switzerland, we are looking for a Specialist Market Access, Health Insurances (m/f/d) (permanent full-time contract), responsible for working on the Art. 71 process and price models, making our innovative medicine available to patients. The role will report directly to the Market Access Lead Switzerland and will be based in our Citybay office in Lucerne.
This position offers the opportunity to work within a team that directly impacts patient access to our innovative medicines and collaborates closely with external and internal stakeholders. We are therefore looking for fast learners with strong collaborative skills.
Position Overview
This position will contribute to our company's commitment to grant patients access to innovative medicine.
The Specialist Market Access, Health Insurances (m/f/d) is responsible for the compliant, effective, and patient-centric implementation of the Art. 71 process and price models. The position is within the local Swiss organization.
Article 71 of the Swiss health insurance ordinance describes the process and the criteria that allow patients to have access to life-saving pharmaceutical innovations, even if these are not yet approved by Swissmedic or reimbursed through the obligatory health insurance. The efficient and compliant implementation of this process is of great importance to patients, physicians, and our company. This involves running the technical process as well as the direct contact with health insurances.
Price models have recently developed in the Swiss reimbursement system. Our company is one of the forerunners in that area. The position will support the processing and analysis of price models in the team.
For this position, we are looking for a person with sound experience in the interaction with health insurances and the technical ability to support the described processes. Effective cross-functional collaboration with the finance, medical, and pharmacovigilance departments will be key for long-term success.
This position offers a distinct opportunity to support patient access to innovative medicine and to be involved in the implementation of current and upcoming pricing models.
Major Activities
Access via Article 71
Ensure compliant and effective handling of this process
Take responsibility for the interactions with health insurances regarding individual cases
Capture and monitor all cases in internal systems
Interact with finance on the necessary financial measures and implications
Price Models
Monitoring and analysis of price models
Interact with finance on the necessary financial measures and implications
Ensure appropriate knowledge transfer to the cross-functional team
Process reclaims from health insurances
Expertise Required / Core Competences
Education
Bachelor Degree or Apprenticeship in Lifescience or Healthcare
1-3 years in the pharmaceutical or health care industry
Language: German is mother tongue or similar proficiency. Proficient in English. Other country languages (French, Italian) are a plus
Experience and Expertise
Proven track record of working in a closely collaborating team
Proven track record of working in cross-functional teams
Understanding of the Swiss health care system
Ability to work with databases
Office365 proficiency with strong capabilities in Excel
Experience in Marketing, Medical, Policy, or Clinical Research would be a plus
Leadership skills
Team Work and Emotional Intelligence
Business Acumen - Understanding of the healthcare system and strong analytical skills
