Why the Private Bank & Wealth Management Graduate Programme?Our two-year Explorer programme develops your understanding and expertise through a deep exploration of three vital areas: Product, Strategy/Business Management and Relationship Management. You'll gain international exposure to our business and build a close relationship with the Corporate and Investment Bank, as you help our clients build on their achievements and fulfil their potential.

Private Bank & Wealth Management at BarclaysBarclays Private Bank works closely with high-net-worth clients and their advisors who have complex banking and investment needs, both in the UK and across the world. Who We're Looking ForTo be considered for this programme, you must be motivated and curious with a degree or expected degree in any area. Language requirements: fluent in English.
Ideally, you'll be interested in finance and business, proactive and a good communicator. We value resourcefulness, teamwork, enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit, all of which might be showcased through your involvement in extracurricular activities.
Purpose of the roleTo participate in the day-to-day activities of the private bank and wealth management division providing insights and expertise that help senior colleagues make informed decisions, develop new products and services, and identify new market opportunities.
Accountabilities- Execution of small research projects, research to support strategic decision making, preparation of presentations and reports to communicate research findings, collaboration with senior management to implement research findings for private bank and wealth management, working closely with high-net-worth clients and their advisors who have complex banking and investment needs.
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
- Participation in training and development programmes to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Identification of opportunities, development of business cases, management of the deployment and launch of new products and services for private bank and wealth management.
- Management of client relationships and provision of customer service support to clients and customers, under steadily decreasing supervision, responding to questions about products and services, processing of transactions.
- Management of the development and implementation of financial models and strategies that support in decision making in private bank and wealth management.
- Training and mentoring of junior colleagues.
- Will have an impact on the work of related teams within the area.
- Partner with other functions and business areas.
- Takes responsibility for end results of a team's operational processing and activities.
- Escalate breaches of policies / procedures appropriately.
- Take responsibility for embedding new policies/ procedures adopted due to risk mitigation.
- Advise and influence decision making within own area of expertise.
- Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work you own or contribute to. Deliver your work and areas of responsibility in line with relevant rules, regulation and codes of conduct.
- Maintain and continually build an understanding of how own sub-function integrates with function, alongside knowledge of the organisations products, services and processes within the function.
- Demonstrate understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
- Make evaluative judgements based on the analysis of factual information, paying attention to detail.
- Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedents.
- Guide and persuade team members and communicate complex / sensitive information.
- Act as contact point for stakeholders outside of the immediate function, while building a network of contacts outside team and external to the organisation.
