We are hiring a driven Director, Project Delivery Lead to support the Global Engineering Capital Projects for Lonza’s Visp, Switzerland

Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families, if needed.

In this role you will be assigned to one or multiple specific growth investment projects and be responsible for planning, executing investment projects through the complete project pathway (on time, within budget, meeting required EHS and quality standards). The role provides leadership to the project team(s), builds and manages relationships with internal customers, vendors and contractors. This is an engineering field role.

Key responsibilities
  • Responsible for delivery of project goals in terms of cost, time, functionality and according to client expectations.
  • Establish project charter including scope of work, goals and deliverables together with the relevant project champion to support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Clarifying roles and responsibilities within the project organization and developing full-scale project plans and associated communication documents.
  • Secure optimal flow of information within project organization and collaborate with E2E project lead/project steering committee, and mediate in case of problems.
  • Creating, driving and updating project work plans as appropriate to meet the changing needs and requirements.
  • Report regularly in writing, including project progress reports. Includes both internal to Lonza stakeholders as well as ensuring external partners if needed are informed/aligned.
  • Establish the project team/structure necessary to reach the project goals and ensure appropriate mentoring/development/performance feedback to all direct reports in order to develop a strong and proficient team.
Key requirements
  • Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering or related science field.
  • Proven experience in engineering related roles in the pharmaceutical industry (especially in Small Molecule).
  • English proficient with German knowledge.
  • Broad technical knowledge of the Various Engineering Disciplines in the Pharmaceutical environment, both on clean and black utilities, process, automation, instrumentation and civil engineering.
  • Task-oriented person who is very comfortable working towards set objectives and has a track record of achieving results in this regard.
  • Proven experience in cost control and scheduling related to investment projects.
  • Experience in engineering aspects of manufacturing, clean room and lab facility design to build a compliant but cost-effective plant.
  • Knowledge of modern CQV approaches to minimize the time from construction completion to routine production while maintaining compliance.
