This role will collaborate across global teams and with OEM partners to ensure delivery of high-performance, energy-efficient, and reliable solutions for both Original Equipment (OE) and Aftermarket projects. We believe in fairness and choose to be honest, transparent, and authentic in everything we do.Key Responsibilities:Electrical System Design: Develop and document electrical designs for, including high-voltage motors, variable speed drives, transformers, instrumentation, and medium/low voltage systems.Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with OEM partners and suppliers to define system requirements, review designs, and ensure seamless integration of electrical components into our solutions.Project Support: Contribute to OE and Aftermarket projects by providing electrical engineering expertise, ensuring compliance with technical standards and customer specifications.Cross-functional Integration: Collaborate with internal teams such as R&D, manufacturing, procurement, and project management to support effective product lifecycle development.Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.Experience in electrical engineering, ideally in the mining, heavy machinery, or industrial sectors.Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with high-voltage and low-voltage systems, control systems, drives, instrumentation, and electrical standards (e.g., IEC, UL, CE).Software Skills: Proficient in MS Office and electrical design tools such as EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar.Founded in 1871, Weir is a world leading engineering business with a purpose to make mining operations smarter, more efficient and sustainable.
