Join our global team to grow your expertise and develop innovative solutions that enable a prosperous and more sustainable society.Your main tasks and responsibilities:Perform daily Inspections and maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment and Shear Maintenance as per Schedule.Shear and trim sheet steel and plate according to written or verbal instructions, sketches, blueprints etc.Operate the shear machine and adjust the backstop controls in a safe manner.Measure dimensions of work piece, using measuring tape, gauge, template, or ruler and square, for conformance to specifications.Lift work piece manually, by forklift or by overhead crane, positions and secures against guides and stops.Maintains a clean work area, including his equipment, work supplies and materialsComplies with Federal, State, and local occupational safety, environmental, health and Safety regulations including machine safety with all safety precautions recommended by Machine manufacturers.Adhere to Sulzer safety standards of facility and actively participate in the company’s Safe Behavioral Program & Take 5.Perform other duties and special projects as assignedTo succeed in this role, you will need:Required: 2-3 years’ experience in use of hydraulic shears Operation or comparable experience in other fieldsHigh School Degree or GEDBasic math skills and functional literacy in reading, writing and calculation is requiredAbility to set-up and run machinery without supervisionUnderstand and follow oral and written instructionsForklift or Crane license considered an assetAbility to check and measure parts to ensure accuracy and precision.
