Mechanical Hardware R&D Engineer, RoBoa We are looking for a hands‑on Mechanical Hardware R&D Engineer to own the design, development, prototyping, and testing of our next‑generation robotic products. In this role, you will transform innovative concepts into reliable, manufacturable, and cost‑effective mechanical solutions in close collaboration with cross‑functional teams. Responsibilities Full‑Cycle Development: Lead the mechanical design of new hardware features and systems, from initial concept through to production. Research & Feasibility: Conduct research and feasibility studies on new materials, manufacturing methods, and mechanical technologies. Design & Analysis: Develop 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and engineering documentation. Perform tolerance analysis and FEA simulations to ensure mechanical integrity and reliability. Prototyping & Validation: Build and test mechanical prototypes to evaluate performance, durability, and reliability. Documentation: Support the creation of test plans, verification procedures, and design validation reports. Optimization: Drive DFX (Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, Cost, Certification) efforts. Collaboration: Actively participate in design reviews, failure analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. Innovation: Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends and best practices to drive innovation. Requirements & Qualifications Mechanical Experience: Practical skills with machines and tools (drill press, dremel, 3‑D printer, angle grinder, etc.). Technical Experience: Proven hands‑on experience in building, testing, and debugging complex hardware systems, including strong proficiency with 3‑D CAD and mechanical assembly. Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field. Working Style: Excellent problem‑solving skills, goal‑oriented, self‑starter, capable of independent and small‑team work, willing to take responsibility.
