As part of strengthening our activities, and to support one of our historic clients, we are looking for a:

Design Safety Engineer (English & Italian fluent)

As a Prime consultant, you will play a key role in providing your technical expertise to our client, a Swiss technology leader on a global scale. You will be an essential contributor to the success of ambitious projects, ensuring that safety, environmental and health considerations are integrated into the design and execution of plants, equipment, and processes. Your work will support our partners in achieving compliance with regulatory standards, minimizing risks and optimizing project outcomes.

Your mission:

  • Safety Integration: Incorporate safety, environmental, and health principles into the design of chemical plants, equipment, and processes.
  • Risk Analysis: Conduct risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP, FMEA) and propose mitigation strategies to ensure safe and compliant operations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs adhere to local and international EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and industry standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and EHS, to identify and resolve safety-related issues during project execution.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including safety reports, design specifications, and compliance records.
  • Innovation: Propose innovative solutions to enhance safety, reduce environmental impact, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Provide guidance and training to project teams on safety best practices and design requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze safety performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Willingness to travel across the country and worldwide as required for project support and client collaboration.

Your profile:

  • Degree or advanced degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related field).
  • Proven experience as a Design Safety Engineer or similar role, preferably in the chemical or petrochemical industries.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices (e.g., OSHA, REACH, ATEX).
  • Experience with risk assessment methodologies (e.g., HAZOP, FMEA) and safety engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools and engineering software for design and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering practical and innovative solutions.
  • Fluency in English and Italian is required. Knowledge of German is a plus.
  • Experience working in a global or multicultural environment is desirable.
