Salary Range: According to negotiated agreement

Employment Term: 227 day contract (July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027)

Experience: Job related experience within a specialized field with increasing levels of responsibility is required.

Education: Bachelors degree in job-related area.

Equivalency: Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certificates: Valid Driver's License and Evidence of Insurability.

Clearances: Employment is contingent upon a Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance, paid for by the applicant.

The job of Director of Operations is done for the purpose/s of providing leadership in the area of building and grounds serving the district; providing management to the Maintenance, Custodial and Grounds departments; supervising new project construction and building remodeling; and ensuring goals and objectives of the funding sources are met and required data and records are maintained. This job reports to Superintendent.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assesses and conducts routine and periodic inspections of facilities and grounds of the district for the purpose of ensuring safety, cleanliness, proper construction, and maintenance.
  • Compiles data and materials for the purpose of analyzing issues, providing resources, ensuring compliance with various policies and procedures, and/or monitoring program components.
  • Coordinates with building administrators for the purpose of prioritizing schedules of maintenance, custodial and grounds work activities within the districts and/or directing personnel to appropriate sites or areas.
  • Develops long and short range plans (e.g. project specifications, plans, cost estimates, policies & procedures, accessibility plans (ADA) accommodations, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring organizational objectives are achieved in the most efficient and timely manner.
  • Manages department budget for Maintenance, Custodial and Grounds for the purpose of ensuring conformance with established accounting procedures.
  • Maintains a variety of files and records (e.g. project change orders, policies & procedures for property and personal liability claims, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), fire inspections, Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA), equipment inspections, schedules, procedures, safety logs, maintenance requests, pesticide applications, sand/salt applications, etc.) for the purpose of complete and accurate documentation and audit trail in compliance with district, state and federal regulations.
  • Monitors districtwide maintenance and regulation adherence (e.g. fire alarms and security, fire extinguishers, maintenance standards, etc.) for the purpose of inspecting sites, limiting loss and/or liability, and overall safety.
  • Monitors all program/services for the purpose of ensuring stated outcomes are achieved, relevant policies and procedures are met, and services are efficiently provided within budgetary guidelines.
  • Participates in various committees, and meetings for the purpose of conveying and gathering information regarding a wide variety of subjects required to carry out their administrative responsibilities.
  • Performs personnel functions (e.g. hiring, interviewing, contacting references, direction, training, evaluating, providing professional development opportunities, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining necessary staffing, enhancing productivity of staff, and ensuring necessary district objectives are achieved.
  • Prepares a wide variety of materials for the purpose of documenting activities and issues, meeting compliance requirements, and/or providing supporting materials for requested actions.
  • Prepares specifications and bids (e.g. carpet replacement, custodial equipment, special projects, etc.) for the purpose of submitting accurate cost estimates of proposed work activities.
  • Procures equipment, supplies and materials for the purpose of maintaining appropriate inventory and availability of required items.
  • Provides leadership in establishing new and existing programs for the purpose of maintaining or expanding the services offered.
