Tasks

Responsibilities

Derivatives Operations

  • Enable the correct and prompt import of derivative deals into the trading system
  • Ensure timely confirmation of derivative transactions with internal and external counterparties
  • Perform derivative settlements as well as offsetting of future transactions
  • Create and manage invoices
  • Act as interface function to back offices of counterparties (operative level); coordinate efficient flow of information between other Group stakeholders
  • Handle daily regulatory reporting according to relevant financial market regulations (e.g. Dodd Frank Act, EMIR, UKMIR, FinfraG)
  • Support Trading in derivative and physical transactions

Derivatives Controlling

  • Provide stakeholders with timely and accurate information on derivative transactions, including result reporting, risk metrics and trading fees
  • Perform daily derivative reports for the group’s hedging programs, including deal evaluation, value-at-risk assessments and financial reporting requirements
  • Support Finance in correct accounting of derivative related transactions, e.g. in month-end processes
  • Act as operative contact for internal/external auditors for derivative processes
  • Enhance controlling systems and interfaces to the company’s data structures, visualize relevant information e.g. using BI systems
  • Support business controlling processes, such as monthly and ad-hoc market data and price reporting, monthly trading business and market updates, annual operational budgeting
Requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as business administration, finance/accounting or commodity trading
  • At least 2 years work experience in Derivatives Operations / Controlling functions of a trading or banking company with advanced knowledge about derivatives evaluation and accounting (e.g. IFRS 7 & 9), procurement business processes and hedging operations
  • Knowledge and work experience regarding financial market regulations is a plus
  • Strong analytical thinking and interdisciplinary problem-solving skills
  • Fluent English in written and spoken; knowledge of the German language is a plus
