Job Description:
The Actuarial Pricing team of Everest Reinsurance Company, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is seeking a Senior Reinsurance Actuary to join the Zurich office.
In this position, you will carry out pricing analysis for a wide range of P&C and Specialty reinsurance, focusing mainly on Financial and Credit Lines. Additionally, you will participate in developing and pricing innovative risk transfer solutions in collaboration with clients and brokers. Your responsibilities will involve assessing the profitability of our portfolio alongside underwriters to expand our book. You will collaborate closely with the actuarial team in the head office and other branch locations to enhance our pricing tools for better pricing accuracy.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Lead pricing for Financial Lines and Credit Book
- Price reinsurance treaties, work with underwriting for our Financial Lines/Credit book, and provide pricing support to Zurich and Global Pricing teams in other Casualty, Surety, and Property lines
- Collaborate with underwriting and management for global business support
- Provide recommendations on financial lines/credit pricing models
- Mentor junior actuaries and assist in their development
- Engage in client visits, broker meetings, and marketing events
- Create presentations and reports for management, board, and strategy needs
- Conduct actuarial pricing analyses, business studies, profitability reviews, portfolio management, and ad-hoc modeling
- Ensure consistency and synergy with actuaries across the group
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
- Qualified/Nearly-qualified Actuary from a globally recognized actuarial body
- 8+ years of industry experience
- Proven experience in Financial Lines/Credit actuarial pricing with a good understanding of other P&C lines
- Exposure to reserving practices, CAT modeling, portfolio management, and finance/accounting
- Knowledge of IFRS, Solvency II, and capital management
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
- Team-oriented with an entrepreneurial spirit and strong business acumen
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with Python, R, SQL programming is advantageous
- Proficiency in English, knowledge of another European language is a plus
- Enjoy working in cross-cultural teams and dynamic environments
