We are currently seeking a Research Associate to join our Neurogenomics team within the Neuroscience and Rare Disease (NRD) therapeutic area. This role is pivotal in leveraging genetics and genomics to develop therapeutics for neurological disorders. Collaborating with other NRD sections, you will be instrumental in translating hypotheses into innovative treatments for brain disorders affecting individuals across all stages of life.
As a Research Associate, you will be an integral part of a dynamic team comprising Leaders, Scientists, Research Associates, Postdocs, and Students. Your work will focus on understanding neuronal disorders and exploring potential therapeutic strategies through the application of molecular biology techniques. Your contributions will be vital in deciphering the molecular and cellular consequences of genetic variations in human neurons and in advancing our understanding of the mechanisms behind our therapeutic approaches.
Your key responsibilities:- Cultivate pluripotent stem cell models of human neurological disorders and differentiate them into CNS in vitro models using a variety of methods.
- Employ molecular genetics techniques such as RT-qPCR/ddPCR, western blot, RNAseq, HT-imaging, and proteomics to CNS in vitro models and animal tissues.
- Engage in the design and execution of experiments, planning, and data interpretation to deepen our understanding of disease biology and therapeutic impacts.
- Collaborate closely with team members, share responsibilities, maintain a clean laboratory environment, and contribute positively to the work atmosphere.

Your approach to work is hands-on, efficient, and you're always ready to tackle tasks with a focus on excellence. You're excited about diving into experimental research, exploring new ideas, and uncovering the intricacies of biology through hands-on experimentation.
- A MSc/BSc in Life Sciences (cellular/molecular biology or molecular neuroscience) with ≥3 yrs industry or academic experience.
- Proficiency in cell culture and sterile techniques, particularly with iPSCs or hESCs.
- Broad range of experience with RNA/DNA and protein molecular biology techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a dedication to teamwork.
- Fluent communication in English.
- A passion for meticulous data management and record-keeping
