JOB DESCRIPTION

We are in search of a qualified and resourceful HR Business Partner (HRBP) to support our team in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations. The HRBP will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping us to implement services, policies, and programs. Reporting to the Human Resources Director, the HRBP will assist and advise managers about HR issues and focus on providing exceptional employee experience.

Our ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and French, will have excellent communication & organizational skills, and 6-8 years of experience in HR in an international environment.

Objectives of this Role

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) will serve as a strategic partner to the school's leadership team and faculty, ensuring the effective implementation of HR policies, practices, and procedures. The HRBP will support the school's goals by fostering a positive work environment, promoting professional development, and ensuring compliance with local and international employment regulations.

Strategic HR Planning:

  • Collaborating with Human Resources Director and school leadership to understand organizational goals and develop HR strategies that support these objectives.
  • Providing insights and recommendations on HR-related matters, including workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development.

HR Metrics and Reporting:

  • Tracking and analysing HR metrics to inform decision-making and improve HR processes.
  • Preparing regular reports on HR activities, including recruitment, turnover, and employee satisfaction, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance.

Employee Relations:

  • Providing an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters.
  • Fostering a positive work environment through effective communication, conflict resolution, and mediation.
  • Addressing employee concerns and grievances promptly and fairly.
  • Promoting and maintaining a culture of respect, diversity, and inclusion.

Talent Management:

  • In collaboration with Talent Acquisition Officer, ensuring a smooth onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and integration into the school community.
  • Developing strategies to attract and retain top talent, particularly for positions requiring unique qualifications.
  • Assisting in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart.
  • Backing up the HR Coordinator and Talent Acquisition Officer during busy periods and holidays.

Performance Management:

  • Implementing and managing performance appraisal systems to ensure ongoing feedback and professional development.
  • Supporting managers in setting clear performance expectations and providing constructive feedback.
  • Addressing performance issues and supporting employees in creating development plans.

Training and Development:

  • Identifying training needs and coordinating professional development programs for faculty and staff.
  • Supporting leadership development initiatives and succession planning efforts.
  • Promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Overseeing the administration of compensation and benefits programs.
  • Providing guidance on benefits offerings.

Compliance and Policy Development:

  • Ensuring compliance with local and international labor laws and school policies.
  • Developing, reviewing, and updating HR policies and procedures to reflect best practices and legal requirements.
  • Managing employee records and ensuring confidentiality and data protection.

Expatriate Support:

  • Managing expatriate employee programs, including visa processing, relocation assistance, and cultural integration.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Work rate: 80% - 100%
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 6-8 years' experience in HR in an international environment.
  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or in a similar HR role, preferably in an international or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices and labour legislation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and build strong relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed.
  • Bilingual in French and English (level C1 in both languages required).
