Senior Footwear Designer Innovation

In short

We are seeking an experienced Innovation Designer with an exceptional design portfolio and a robust background in the industry designing elite athlete products. In this role, you will spearhead innovation and design initiatives, collaborating closely with the broader innovation team. As an Innovation Designer, your main responsibility will be developing and executing revolutionary performance concepts and solutions that drive performance at the highest level.

Your Mission
  • Be an integral part of the Innovation Design team and push the boundaries of On's future products with an emphasis on disruptive performance solutions.
  • Own your projects from design concepts through to final delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with our global athlete teams (OAC), sports science and external stakeholders to translate athlete data and insights into innovative high performance footwear solutions.
  • Develop new concepts, mock-ups, visuals, 2D and 3D files for new projects
  • Collaborate closely with our Zurich based- and our Vietnam based development team on creating functional and performance-driven product
Your story
  • You have 5-8 years of experience in performance footwear (road running/track experience preferred)
  • You hold a bachelor or master's degree in product/industrial design and/or design engineering
  • Strong interest for performance footwear, athletes data as well as a connection to sports/running and are able to translate those into products
  • You have the ability to quickly get up to speed with new technologies, softwares and tools.
  • You seamlessly move between digital and physical design and product creation tools.
  • You have worked in Innovation and High performance athlete product creation teams.
  • Deep knowledge in advanced footwear materials and manufacturing processes for road racing and track & field
  • Advanced prototyping and making skills
  • You have an curious and innovative mind with a strong drive to pushing the boundaries of our industry
  • You have excellent 2D, 3D software skills (Rhino (grasshopper), Blender, Fusion,
  • You have a structured mind, excellent communication, and presentation skills
  • You are fluent in English both written and spoken
