JOB DESCRIPTION

Organizational Context:

Please note that this is a locally-recruited position, restricted to Swiss nationals and/or legal residents of Switzerland.


With its 192 member countries, the Universal Postal Union (UPU), a specialized agency of the United Nations, is the primary forum for cooperation between postal sector players. It helps to ensure a truly universal network of up-to-date products and services.

Main duties:

1. Manage orders from designated operators sent by the relevant IB services, and set priorities.

2. Programme and print barcode labels (EMS, special letter services, postal parcels, continuous testing of international service quality).

3. Make up consignments and hand them over for dispatch.

4. Compile statistics relating to label production.

5. Manage stocks and inform the Print Shop Manager of all supply needs.

6. Maintain the printing equipment.

7. Provide the Print Shop with ad hoc support (photocopying, finishing, handling, receipt of goods, supplying paper stock in Print Shop and on floors).QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED Education:

Secondary or equivalent technical or commercial studies.Experience:

0 to 2 years of office/administrative duties and similarTechnical knowledge:

1. Very good knowledge of barcode production software programs.

2. Good technical knowledge of printing equipment.

3. Knowledge of production processes (handling, finishing, photocopying).

4. Knowledge of stock management and logistics.

5. Knowledge of office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).Skills and abilities / competencies:

Ability to organize own work and work independently.Language skills:

Proficiency in French and working knowledge of English.

Additional Information:

This is a non-core post. This position will be in full compliance with the "Rules governing non-core staff".

The selected staff will participate in the UPU Provident Scheme and will be insured together with their recognized dependents against the risks of sickness and accidents.

This is a three years' contract which can be renewed if the services continue to be required in the future, the funds are available and/or the staff member's performance is satisfactory. However, this appointment does not automatically carry any expectancy of extension or renewal or of conversion to any other type of appointment.

Annual salary: (Net of tax)

32,488 CHF
