PhD Position in AI for Finance at BFH, Uni Twente, and ECB

What you'll be doing here

This PhD position is part of 19 openings within the MSCA Industrial Doctoral Network on Digital Finance, providing a European-wide doctorate in Digital Finance, with leading institutions such as the European Central Bank.
You will work on exciting research and innovation projects focused on data science, AI and ML applications in finance together with industry and academic expects from Switzerland and abroad.
You will have access to a specialized training program on Digital Finance created at the European level from a consortium of leading industry and academic experts.
You will work on industry-relevant topics on AI in Finance. Topics are subject to change.
You will spend at least 18 months in industry, with expected placements at the European Central Bank and the Bank for International Settlements. Your PhD-awarding university will be the University of Twente.
What you'll bring with you
Master's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Information Technology, Computational Science or related fields
A strong passion and outstanding skills in data science and experience working with programming languages and statistical software such as Python, R, C++
Knowledge on quantitative modelling of financial markets, econometric techniques, machine learning or quantitative empirical research methods
The ability to work on real-world problems in an interdisciplinary and internationally oriented environment
Good communication skills and an excellent command of English
