We are in search of a seasoned engineer with a flair for leading engineering endeavors within a team environment. The ideal candidate should boast a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the industry, showcasing expertise in both technical domains and the capacity to oversee medium-sized projects. (managing engineering teams comprising 3 to 10 professionals)
Your Role:
- Lead an engineering squad to effectively carry out intricate projects. Supervise resource allocation, scheduling, technical milestones, and risks. Ensure projects are completed 'on time, within budget', and meet performance standards.
- Maintain a holistic view of the project's impact and alignment with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with other lead engineers on projects to harness collective capabilities within the company.
- Regularly update company management on project progress, risks, and accomplishments.
- Engage in technical project tasks, specifically in areas such as mechanical design, electrical design, thermal analysis, dynamics assessment, and system-level scrutiny.
- Offer mentorship and direction to project team members, particularly junior colleagues.
- Create documentation to underpin design choices and resolve issues. Develop presentations for design evaluations. Lead technical meetings and program reviews, both internal and external.
- Contribute to crafting client proposals, including cost estimations and outlining proposal tasks.
- Assist in recruitment efforts when necessary to ensure ample engineering resources for technical ventures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of industry experience in Engineering, including involvement in complex systems.
- Innate drive to comprehend and tackle intricate engineering challenges.
- Capability to visualize components and systems mentally and through drawings or CAD software.
- Prior experience leading small engineering groups or projects, preferably with Design Lead exposure within a larger team.
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in lightweight aerostructures.
- Knowledge of Siemens NX (preferred) or CATIA.
- Some familiarity with analytical tools like FEM applications and/or MATLAB.
- Hands-on involvement with composite manufacturing methods.
