DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTIONSalesforce Professional Services focuses on delivering strategic engagements that define transformational opportunities and articulate clear plans for execution of change programs. We rely on our team's expertise and specialisms to engage with executive-level customers to agree on specific business goals and actions to ignite the full value of Salesforce. Our approach considers people, process, and technology — and a successful engagement includes recommendations to the business for change to support deeper, more relevant use of the Salesforce platform.
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
Salesforce is currently seeking a Solution Architect to join our Professional Services team within the Customer Success Group (CSG). The role involves overseeing a team of CommerceCloud Architects while also serving as a Solution Architect in customer projects.
As part of the customer projects, the Solution Architect leads one or more workstreams in complex enterprise engagements, partnering with key collaborators to drive and achieve the vision while completing key deliverables. They serve as hands-on advisors, using strong interpersonal skills, solution and/or technical knowledge, Salesforce product knowledge, industry experience, consulting experience, and knowledge of their client's business to deliver customer return on investment.
The ideal candidate will possess both a CommerceCloud specialization and people leadership skills.
YOUR IMPACT
- Serve as a trusted advisor to customers.
- Lead and manage a team of CommerceCloud architects to achieve business objectives including the attainment of targets for utilization, revenue and skill development.
- Lead enterprise-level e-Commerce projects using agile software development methodologies throughout the whole life cycle with repeated and demonstrable success
- Defines overall user-journeys integrating Salesforce CommerceCloud with the Salesforce products, including Sales, Service, Data, Revenue, and Marketing Cloud
- Defines business requirements, writing user stories, and providing detailed e-Commerce system and functional designs
- Work closely with Account and Services Sales team by supporting pre-sales activities such as the development of proposals and SOWs, conduct scope discoveries, estimate efforts and create staffing plans
- Guide customers and colleagues in rationalizing and deploying new technologies that drive increased business value.
- Work collaboratively and having very strong communications skills, especially in teaching sophisticated concepts, and creative, prescriptive thinking across various levels of a client organization.
- Identify and proactively run risk areas and commit to seeing an issue through to complete resolution.
- Lead customer expectations; negotiate solutions to sophisticated problems with both the customer and third-party partners.
- Identify and lead internal pivotal initiatives to grow the professional service practice; serve as an active contributor to the community's overall knowledge base and expertise.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experienced professional with 8+ years of relevant Commerce / Marketing domain expertise and experience leading and managing teams
- Expert level understanding of SaaS e-Commerce platform (Salesforce Commerce Cloud preferred)
- Experience leading discovery sessions, defining business requirements, writing user stories and providing detailed system and functional designs.
- Experience in detailing business processes and wire-framing system designs using process flow diagram tools, sequence diagrams, etc. as well as making recommendations for future state improved processes and system designs.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks (such as SAFE), Business Process analysis and design background.
- Strong presentation skills; able to optimally present a point of view and clearly articulate the rationale to a variety of team members.
- Ability to rapidly learn and take advantage of new concepts, business models, and technologies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; able to effectively develop materials that are appropriate for the audience.
- Resourceful and entrepreneurial thinker who can work through and solve problems.
- Available to travel regionally and occasionally internationally depending on customer needs.
- Salesforce Consultant / Architect certifications (e.g. Core Admin, Commerce, Data)
- Proficiency in English language required.
