Derivatives Trader

Main Purpose:
Developing new strategies and identifying opportunities in the global macro space as well as providing daily support to traders on the desk. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in trading various derivative products including flat price, time-spread, crack spreads, arbitrage, and option structures.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • At least 7-10 years of experience in Global Macro related Analysis, trading and execution in a bank, hedgefund or related business
  • Detailed knowledge about global derivative markets (commodities, fx, bonds, equities) and their drivers
  • At leat 5 years experience in SHFE metals market and execution
  • Experience in building and maintaining commodity supply & demand models.
  • Ability to trade LME and SHFE metals in times spreads, outrights, options and Arbs
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and market trends in order to identify new trading opportunities across assets
  • Fluency in Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Programming skills (Visual Basic, SQL, advanced Python skills are a must)
  • Experience in building quantative models for Macro analysis
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin
Key Responsibilities
  • Execute Shfe and LME trads, generate PnL
  • Build and maintain relationship with external and internal stakeholders
  • Help on trade execution and implementation of trading strategies across a range of derivative products
  • Perform market studies on new products, maintain and update physical supply and demand models
  • Manage VM and IM exposure.
  • Monitoring the performance of existing positions and initiating trades when necessary to ensure the profitability
  • Participating in risk assessments on specific investments, evaluate the alignment of these investments with the strategy
