Senior Data Engineer, Data Warehouse

The DWH Data Engineer will work on Software Development Lifecycle of a Data Warehouse (DWH) application, including these activities:
• technical analysis: analyze business requirements, data sources, and data flows to design an efficient and scalable DWH solution.
• technical design: create detailed technical specifications, data models, and architecture diagrams for the DWH application.
• implementation and test: develop, configure, and test ETL processes, data transformations, and data quality checks to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• production support: monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain the DWH application in production, ensuring high availability and performance.
The DWH Data Engineer will also take additional tasks and responsibilities:
• support and enable new / emerging practices, learning opportunities, and capability building. Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices, and actively participate in knowledge sharing and training activities to enhance team's capabilities.
• collaborate with management to remove blocking issues. Adhere to coding standards and best practices, collaborating with management to identify and resolve any obstacles or bottlenecks in the development process.
• create and update documentation for the DWH application, including component inventory and interface specifications.
• provide technical expertise and assistance during internal audits, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
• manage and update the DWH application's configuration information in the local Configuration Management Database (CMDB) to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
• collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Owner to provide technical guidance and recommendations for optimizing the application.
• collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and ensure data quality.
• partner with Database Administrators (DBAs) to improve database performance, identify and resolve anomalies, and maintain a clean and efficient database environment.
Your team
You'll be working in the Financial Crime Prevention area as part of the Technology division in Zurich. We provide information needed for Financial Crime Prevention activities and Due Diligence information for our internal stakeholders. This benefits our internal stakeholders from the Financial Investigation Units. As a member of our team, you'll play an important role in to further develop our mission.
Your expertise
Minimal qualification:
• 8 years of comprehensive experience with Data Warehouse technologies, including ETL platforms, Data Warehouse applications, and big data technologies
• deep understanding of data modeling, dimension modeling and data optimization techniques
• expert-level proficiency in SQL programming
• proficiency in Shell script programming for AIX environment
• strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• excellent communication and collaboration skills
• work collaboratively in a team environment
• experience working in Agile environment
• english at fluent level is mandatory
Preferred qualifications:
• 5 years of experience in Banking Industry
• 3 years of experience in Compliance and/or Financial Crime Prevention processes, such as AML (Anti Money Laundering), KYC (Know Your Customer), Case Management or Anti-Fraud Investigation
• certification in IBM DB2 (if possible on AIX platforms)
• certification in Microsoft Azure Data Engineer
• familiarity with big data technologies (eg: Spark)
• familiarity with SAP Business Objects
