Lab Manager

A position for a lab manager will become available from February 2024 in the Ochsenreiter group at the Institute of Cell Biology of the University of Bern.
We use a combination of molecular biology, biochemistry and microscopic imaging (including ultrastructure expansion microscopy and cryo-electron tomography) to study the underlying molecular mechanisms of organelle biogenesis.

Tasks
Supervision of a laboratory for molecular and cell biology including own research work in molecular and cell biology as well as supervision of the students involved
Requirements:
Master or PhD in Biology or closely related fields. Strong background in molecular biology and biochemistry. Experience in parasitology or microscopic imaging is a plus.
Flexibility to quickly adapt to different projects and a strong interest to interact with students at different levels is required.
The ability to organize the day to day business in a smaller lab (ordering etc.) is a prerequisite.What we offer
