Housekeeper

Gross monthly salary:
CHF 3,81- Convert to other currencies

Approx net weekly salary:

The housekeeper is responsible for food service, cleaning, laundry, etc. at a hotel or chalet. Working closely with the chef, the housekeeper will supervise the team of domestic staff. Additional responsibilities include basic food preparation, food service, laundry, clearing snow and cleaning the facilities on a daily basis.

The housekeeper will liaise directly with clients so must have very good communication skills, is expected to maintain very high standards of appearance and must be patient and flexible at all times.

Requirements:

• Fluent in English.
• Knowledge of French or German an advantage.
• Experience of hospitality work (cleaning, food preparation, food service, barman, etc.).
• Leadership, teamwork and communication skills.
• Basic administrative skills.
• Valid and clean driving licence.
• Organised, creative, adaptable, trustworthy, patient and presentable.

In the winter, a ski pass ("Magic Pass") can be provided at a reduced cost (449 Swiss francs) to support staff, if requested.

The cost is deducted from the first month's net salary, but is refunded at the end of the employment period, if the employment is completed satisfactorily and in full.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Play a leadership role in the compulsory training and assessment period.
• Oversee the efficient operation of a hotel or chalet, including the supervising of the domestic staff.
• Conduct daily inspections of the facilities to ensure that the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained.
• Follow basic administrative and financial procedures.
• Liaise with school chaperones on the group's arrival and develop a helpful, accessible, relationship during the group's stay.
• Prepare and maintain guest and staff bedrooms and other facilities, as required.
• Prepare the dining room and serve each meal, as required.
• Assist in food preparation, dishwashing and kitchen cleaning, as required.
• Take responsibility (serving, cleaning, cash reporting, etc.) for the bar, as required.
• Carry out laundry, as required.
• Clear snow, as required.
• Be a role model to the Viamonde staff and children, acting responsibly and in a caring manner at all times.
• Show understanding of and appreciation for diverse cultural backgrounds within the children, school chaperones and Viamonde staff.
