ROLE SUMMARY

The University Advisor plays a vital role within the University Advising department, supporting students in exploring various post-CDL options, providing personalized guidance throughout the university application process, and establishing connections with universities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Developing educational programs and resources for students, parents, and colleagues to aid in the university application process.
• Assisting seniors in selecting suitable universities and navigating the application procedures.
• Preparing and submitting necessary documents, such as recommendations and transcripts, for student applications.
• Disseminating information on summer programs, university visits, and other opportunities to enhance student profiles for university applications.
• Coordinating university visits, attending fairs, and participating in relevant conferences regularly.
• Conducting parent sessions on university advising and option choices.
• Contributing to career and university exploration activities for students in Grade 8 to 10.
• Providing guidance on course selection aligned with students' university goals.
• Assisting in organizing university entrance exams and testing, along with informing students about testing requirements for applications.
• Managing data and sharing information with relevant departments and parents as needed.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• In-depth knowledge of global education systems and application processes.
• Familiarity with the school's various curricula and their impact on university admissions.
• Native English speaker with strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in French is a bonus.
• Proficiency in IT tools such as MaiaLearning, UCAS, CommonApp, and Studielink.
• Excellent team player with outstanding interpersonal and leadership abilities.
• Adaptable, organized, enthusiastic, and responsible, with a focus on student and parent engagement.

REQUIREMENTS

The role requires a commitment to Child Protection guidelines, maintaining professionalism while building supportive relationships with students. Embracing diversity, preventing discrimination, and upholding the highest standards of ethics are essential. Background checks covering the last decade will be part of the selection process.
