As the Enterprise Architect, you will join our international IT Team and will contribute with your expertise to steer u-blox through transformation and optimization initiatives while defining the topic of Enterprise Architecture Management.


  • You will be the leader of the IT Architecture Board using your knowledge of best practices to map the current IT landscape and define the future IT landscape together with the other IT architects: the key to being successful in the role is to interact and coordinate with Subject Matter Experts and other stakeholders to map the business capabilities, and major endtoend business processes. Gather requirements and identify which services are currently supporting the business functions and processes.
  • One of your development goals will be to raise the maturity of the Enterprise Architecture practice into an internal management consultancy, designed and enabled to help formulate, translate, and execute business strategy.
  • Your collaboration is more than welcome on the introduction of any new major platforms into the EA landscape (e.g., Global PLM or ERP solutions), helping the Project Managers and the delivery teams properly support business capabilities and endtoend processes.
  • The position reports to the Head of Applications and work closely together with the whole IT Leadership Team.

    Your Responsibilities
  • Introduce, develop, maintain, and promote Enterprise Architecture Management (EAM) in ublox:
  • Support the Application Landscape Inventory and Classification to understand the quality and business value of the actual services. Work on the data layer to clearly understand data silos and flows. Complete the mapping at the technology layer, defining an efficient interface with the CMDB.
  • Participate in the data governance team and, with the support of respective SMEs, discover silos and data domains, then drive master data domain definition across the enterprise aligning this layer with the overall Enterprise Architecture, and business ownership, enabling a proper MDM organization.
  • Prepare reports to support and facilitate decisionmaking.
  • Follow up and foster the adoption of the EAM practices and platform by engaging and supporting the internal business customers, including preparing usage guides, and organizing workshops and training.
  • Drive the IT Architecture Board, which will include other architects across the IT Team:
  • Share and spread architectural best practices and standards and bring knowledge of innovative technologies, and agile and lean approaches to evolve and manage innovation.
  • Coach and support Solution Architects to solve complex punctual business problems and collaborate with delivery teams to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture, as well as to leverage shared technologies, tools, and processes that impact speed to value and time to market.
  • Collaborates with infrastructure teams to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in computer science, electronic engineering (or any equivalent STEM discipline), and/or in business process management or in the business analysis area.
  • Deep experience in strategic and operations planning and/or business analysis or as a Solution Architect for major programs/products and excellent Project Management and Business Analysis skills
  • Good knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, SOA, APIs, open data, microservices, eventdriven IT, and predictive analytics and of Enterprise Architecture principles and familiarity with the main information management practices: ALM, ITSM, agile and lean methodologies, infrastructure and operations, and ITIL frameworks.
  • Familiarity with graphical modelling approaches, and tools (e.g., Enterprise Architect). Good ability to easily translate visual draft architectural concepts.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, and organizational skills. Selfdriving, proactive, with a cando attitude and excellent planning and communication skills, able to build strong collaboration between different teams.
  • Excellent English (written, spoken) communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate new ideas and concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences.

  • Understanding of the different types of agile principles, methodologies, and frameworks, especially those designed to be scaled at the enterprise level.
