Given the advancements in web3 and blockchain technology we're now in a position to accelerate transformation across the arts and address the unique needs of artists, galleries, institutions, and collectors to create a trusted space for information, partnerships, and transactions that empowers our users to fully embrace innovation.

Smart contracts offering artist and gallery royalties, custom payment terms, sales agreements, verified provenance, and digital certificates of authenticity are only the beginning.


We are now recruiting the team that will grow this business over the coming years to shape the future art world with Arcual.


The Department:

Our Finance and Operations department plays a critical role within Arcual. Here we provide crucial information necessary for the continued success of our business.

We oversee the execution of tasks related to legal processes as well as analyzing the company's finances and spending, whilst ensuring we continue to promote compliance as well as maximizing profitability.

What You Will Do:

Activities will be split across audit, risk, treasury & tax, accounts & reporting and financial controls.

However, Arcual is a start-up and we value curiosity so there will be opportunities to be involved in other areas of finance too.


More detailed responsibilities include:

  • External reporting responsibility to all stakeholders: investors, financial institutions
  • Preparation of the group consolidation including Swiss GAAP FER
  • Coordination and consolidation of cash flow forecasting and working capital management
  • To ensure compliance with all tax regulations and consideration of overseas tax compliance
  • Management of relationships with financial institutions: banks and sureties across our three hubs (Zurich, Berlin and London)
  • Supporting financial systems strategy, ensuring we are using appropriate technology and accounting software
  • Plans and prepares for annual audits, liaising with external personnel where required
  • Leads and manages all internal controls inclusive of maintaining uptodate documentation on business processes (SOPs) and accounting policies

What We Look For:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA, CPA)
  • A progressive record of success within a fast moving, forward thinking, and dynamic environment
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of a commercial business
  • Strong technical accountant with experience of IFRS and Swiss GAAP FER
  • Good tax knowledge and experience of considering structuring decisions through different lenses: tax considerations, accounting & reporting requirements etc
  • Credible with strong influencing skills able to network effectively with finance and operational management across the business in a variety of cultures
  • Very high level of initiative and selfmotivation but also able to work collaboratively with others
  • Solid experience within an accounting firm would be an advantage
  • Experience within a startup, fast paced scale up would be highly beneficial
  • Further qualification in business administration desirable

Our Hiring Process:

  • The first step will be a screening call with our Talent Acquisition Manager
  • From there, we'll arrange a meeting with our Director of Finance & Operations
  • If everyone is happy we will arrange a Case Study/ Presentation with our CEO, Director of People & Culture and Director of Finance & Operations
  • The final round will be a short "coffee chat" with a leader
