Via Swiss Trading SA is part of an international group of companies active in the trade and retail sectors.

In order to reinforce our team in Switzerland, we are looking for a:

JUNIOR LAWYER

As a Junior Lawyer you will:

  • Assist the quality managers in managing all sorts of quality issues with the acquired goods (worldwide), with a view of mitigating losses and saving costs
  • Provide legal assistance and advice to our network when needed (also by seeking support from local lawyers)
  • Handle claims and international litigations in coordination with the quality managers, the head of legal and the management of the company
  • Help coordinate the work of the claims department at a group level
  • Appoint suitable external experts and lawyers in the countries of our suppliers (worldwide)
  • Liaise with our insurance companies
  • Investigate quality issues to assess liabilities and extent of damage in coordination with the quality managers
  • Negotiate claim settlements with suppliers and clients worldwide
  • Report to the management and offer solutions to reoccurring issues (loss prevention)
  • Initiate and follow up recovery of sums of money from liable third parties, mainly in foreign countries
  • Assist the managers with respect to various tasks
  • Create a line of communication with other departments within the Group to improve quality management
  • Assist in gathering quality management statistics
  • Draft and negotiate international contracts
  • Provide any other legal assistance as may be required

Your profile:

  • Law degree obtained from a European or North American university
  • Legal experience in the retail and international trade sectors would be a plus
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Sense of responsibility

  • Reactivity, dynamism, efficiency and precision
  • Resilience to stress
  • Fluent in French (oral and written)
  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written English
  • Good proficiency in the use of computer tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • EU or Swiss citizenship

Conditions of employment:

  • Based in Geneva, with a possibility of working remotely on occasions
  • Parttime (percentage to be agreed upon)
  • Permanent role
  • Starting date to be discussed
