Your responsibilities

The Medipix3 Collaboration, consisting of 22 academic and research institutes, focuses on developing innovative pixel detector readout ASICs for particle imaging and detection applications.

The Medipix team at CERN's Microelectronics Section leads ASIC development, offering support to Collaboration members and commercial licensees worldwide.

Upon completion of training, you will join the technical support team in the PH-ESE-ME section and undertake the following tasks:

  • Providing technical and logistical support to collaboration partners globally and at CERN
  • Coordinating production and assembly of electronic test cards for ASICs
  • Conducting ASIC wafer probing and selection of good die
  • Maintaining a components database
  • Procuring electronics components
  • Designing printed circuit boards

Your profile

Skills and/or knowledge required:

  • Up to 2 years of electronics experience
  • Basic understanding of electronics board and system design, testing, and production
  • Familiarity with CAD tools for PCB schematic and layout
  • Fluency in English, French proficiency is advantageous

Eligibility criteria:

  • Maximum of 2 years of post-graduation professional experience in Electronics
  • No prior CERN fellow or graduate contract
  • Bachelor, Master, or PhD degree holders are ineligible
