JOB PURPOSE

The selected individual will play a vital role in enhancing the efficiency of Food sourcing operations across global markets. By implementing strategic sourcing initiatives, they will strive for optimization and advancements on all fronts.

The Food Buyer will collaborate with their team to examine, assess, and predict existing and future purchasing patterns, market dynamics, and product trends. Moreover, they will establish and nurture business relationships with suppliers to secure favorable F&B procurement agreements that align with the optimal blend of quality, pricing, and services.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Sources Food products globally in alignment with set targets and company policies.
  • Cultivates and fosters relevant commercial partnerships with suppliers to foster strategic alliances.
  • Scrutinizes supplier quotes and proposals, validates product specifications, and engages in negotiating favorable terms.
  • Analyzes market trends, recommends innovative solutions and products in advance, and strategically plans future acquisitions based on market research.
  • Generates analytical reports and upholds precise records.
  • Collaborates proactively with Logistics and supply chain teams to secure the most beneficial procurement agreements possible.

QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)

  • Prior experience in a similar capacity, minimum of 3 years, preferably within the cruise industry.
  • Background in the Food sector with a profound grasp of Food strategic sourcing and market trends.
  • Proficiency in English, with knowledge of an additional language being advantageous.
  • Strong Excel skills, familiarity with procurement e-platforms considered a plus.
  • Degree in Economics, Gastronomic Sciences, Procurement Management, or Business Management (a master's degree in food and beverage management is a bonus).
  • Proficient in computer systems (familiarity with CrunchTime is beneficial).
  • Ability to meticulously analyze and interpret quotation data and logistics possibilities.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Team player with the capability to perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
