Job Description
Are you skilled in materials science, nanotechnology, polymer science, electrochemistry, analytical chemistry, or related fields? Do you have expertise in functional polymer synthesis, material fabrication techniques like microfluidics or fiber manufacturing, composite fabrication, or similar methods? Have you worked with new analytical techniques? Have you ever been involved in the design of electronic textiles, strain/pressure sensors, polymer-based sensors, or miniaturized sensors? Are you intrigued by biosensors and wearables to create innovative technologies for sports and health applications? If so, please consider the following:
Key Responsibilities:
- Stay updated on relevant literature to identify potential new research directions
- Explore and present ideas regularly to Professor Menon and the research group
- Independently plan, execute, and communicate your research, supported by Professor Menon and the research team
- Produce high-quality publications
- Advance projects with the assistance of Masters/PhD students
- Engage in grant writing and attract students to the lab for mentoring
- Participate in innovative research projects with full support from Professor Menon and ETH Zurich
This role emphasizes personal growth as a researcher and academic. The aim is to publish influential peer-reviewed papers and develop patents for potential commercialization. Approximately 30% of your time will involve supporting the lab's teaching and resource management. As a postdoc at ETH Zurich, you will be a paid university employee.
