The Head of Property Facultative WSE is an outstanding opportunity within the Property & Casualty Facultative EMEA team in P&C Reinsurance


In this role, you are the underwriting and sales leader for Property Fac business for the Western and Southern Europe.

You play an integral part in driving origination and underwriting of profitable business, with ownership for owning the client relationship and full P&L responsibility.

You are in charge of developing the underwriting strategy for the markets, as well as strategies for selected individual key clients, brokers and other business partners.


Focus is to grasp the client's needs, develop corresponding solutions, drive innovation by growing the pipeline of new business solutions and products.

Of equal importance is a specific spotlight on maintaining underwriting quality and preserving the value of our portfolio.

Simply said, we are looking for a leader with a real passion for developing team, who promotes teamwork and cooperation across BUs, countries, and functions

What can you look forward to:

  • Being responsible for the Property Fac P&L business in WSE markets and co-responsible together with the P&C Facultative EMEA Leadership team for the regional results.
  • Craft and implement related underwriting and sales strategy and initiatives for the assigned markets.
  • Have a strong focus on positioning Swiss Re in the market, growing traditional business market share, as well as driving innovation and differentiated solutions to generate new opportunities for tailormade business and new sources of income, including with nontraditional business partners.
  • Supervise and steer the Fac Property portfolio in the markets.
  • Lead, empower and develop the team.
  • Collaborate with and contribute to the crossfunctional teams: e.g., product development, underwriting reviews, specialist input for treaty solutions, joint product, and solutions initiatives with other functions, etc.
  • Lead or bring additional value to departmental or divisional initiatives and projects.
  • As Member of the Leadership Team, you actively add the value to achieve departmental goals and critical initiatives.

  • At least 7 to ten years of experience in re/insurance Property underwriting, including an excellent understanding of markets, products, and trends.
  • Track record as a successful sales leader and dealmaker in originating new business.
  • Experienced in managing and developing people. A motivational mentor who can unlock the potential in others and be a role model for teamwork and collaboration across business units, markets, and functions.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation and influencing skills.
  • Strategic thinker and passionate about delivering results.
  • Creative in developing new solutions and persevering in pursuing opportunities.
  • Open to the challenges of digital disruption and able to handle ambiguity.
  • Strong teammate who promotes partnership and cooperation across units and markets.
