The Associate Director, Project Lead, is at the helm of the technical project team, steering them towards project objectives and milestones. They are tasked with crafting the Basis of design and overseeing its execution until the end of OQ. In addition, this role serves as the subject matter expert during the project's design phase, collaborating with MSAT and Operations. Overall, the position entails aiding in project planning, scheduling technical activities, and collaborating with the project controls team to oversee the budget and costs, assessing and mitigating project risks.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the selection of Design Engineering strategy and partner, inclusive of developing a design deliverables list
  • Manage the Construction and Engineering Team from Detail Design to handover to Operations
  • Ensure effective communication and comprehension of Lonza technical standards by developing a project technical standard
  • Support the development of the project plan and schedule all technical activities
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks throughout its lifecycle
  • Manage the project budget and control costs
  • Solve complex technical problems that arise during the project
  • Ensure all technical aspects of the project meet regulatory requirements
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues effectively
  • Manage change requests and assess their impact on the project
  • Ensure completion of all technical deliverables

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor/Master degree in Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in project engineering and management in chemical, biochemical, and pharmaceutical industries with global exposure
  • Broad technical knowledge of Various Engineering Disciplines in the Pharmaceutical environment
  • Task-oriented individual with a proven track record of achieving set objectives
  • Experience in cost control, scheduling of investment projects, and facility design
  • Knowledge of modern CQV approaches and computer systems
  • Understanding of the CDMO industry
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and German
  • Effective influencing skills with a collaborative mindset
  • Proven leadership and mentoring abilities
