Responsibilities:

  • Further develop and implement a strong HSE culture at the site based on ownership and provide guidance and support to all areas & teams.
  • Ensure a high level of presence on our production floor through regular visits and ongoing dialogue with team leaders, employees as well as contractors
  • Ensure compliance with all HSE regulations applicable to the company and maintain Hitachi Energy's HSE management systems and tools
  • Prepare reports on HSE performance and progress against safety and sustainability targets and key performance indicators
  • Assists management in understanding duties, liability and performance of their responsibilities in accordance with local HSE laws and Hitachi Energy policies, instructions and standards.
  • Conduct audits, analyze results, derive and follow up on actions.
  • Implement lessons learned in a sustainable manner together with the responsible areas
  • Drives behavior change by implementing improvement programs and practices to ensure exemplary health and safety culture
  • Engages external and internal stakeholders to report on HSE efforts and performance, raise awareness and gain commitment
  • Ensures appropriate HSE equipment and tools are available and used in the plant. Identifies, plans and initiates training needs for employees, site managers and contractors.
Your background

  • Degree in engineering, environmental science or occupational health and safety and several years f HSE experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with behaviorbased occupational health and safety and culture change initiatives
  • Knowledge and experience with ISO45001 & ISO14001as well as SUVA, EKAS guidelines.
  • Ability to build trust with various stakeholders at all levels of management
  • Ability to take actions, make decisions, overcome problems by yourself
  • Good understanding of change management principles
  • Performance oriented and experience working in international teams as well as regional and local teams
  • Solid communication and influencing skills
  • Strong decision making and solution finding skills
  • Fluent in written and spoken German and English
