Overview of the Role


This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Client Marketer to develop, manage, execute and measure effective integrated marketing campaigns to engage clients and generate new leads within the Central European market.

The role is integral to support the growth of the European business, with a strong focus on the German institutional and Swiss institutional and private wealth markets.

Based in Nuveen's Frankfurt or Zurich offices, close alignment with the firm's Central Europe Global Client Group and European Marketing team, is required to execute the region's 'go to market' plan and best position Nuveen for growth.


The role requires generalist marketing knowledge as it touches a wide spectrum of mar-com activities and will serve as a liaison to other marketing functions including media relations, digital/e-marketing, product marketing, design, social media, paid media and multimedia, across the Europe, Asia Pacific and marketing teams, helping to provide an integrated marketing approach.


Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes on Germany and Switzerland marketing plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives and providing guidance to wider Marketing team so that all activity is in lock step.
  • Partners closely with Global Client Group (sales team) to ensure marketing initiatives align with capital raising priorities and themes, providing a tailored experience for clients and prospects in the region.
  • Identifies and executes brandbuilding and awareness opportunities for the business including advertising, advertorials, sponsorship and social media, working closely with key local media publications as well as brand, design, paid media, PR and content comms teams.
  • Works closely with events team on proprietary and external events programme, ensuring activities align with regional plan, position the brand effectively and provide an elevated client experience.
  • Works closely with global digital team to manage local Germany, Swiss and Austrian websites, ensuring content is updated and aligns to regional goals, in addition to advising on appropriate personalised content for website IP detection, ensuring all Central Europe website users have a refined digital experience.
  • Partners with analytics team to provide reporting and analysis of marketing programmes, ensuring regular reviewing and refining.
  • Seeks more innovative ways in which the business can be marketed, with a focus on enhancing the client experience.

Technical Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • 7+ years marketing experience Degree educated Qualification in Marketing preferred Experience working within financial services Strongly fluent in written and spoken professional English and German. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products

  • Able to operate under time pressure and multitask
  • Selfdirected, selfstarter, and motivated with the ability to work with mínimal supervision in a complex organisation
  • Developed interpersonal skills including a proactive approach to resolving conflicts/ overcoming inefficiencies
  • Able to think independently and challenge/escalate issues in an appropriate manner

Preferred Skills:

  • Fluent in written and spoken French and/or Italian
  • Crossborder experience/skills
  • Experience driving client marketing campaigns
