Equity Analyst Thematic Investing

To strengthen our investment teams at Robeco Switzerland Ltd, we are seeking an Equity Analyst in Zurich, primarily focusing on the Smart Energy investment strategy. This strategy involves investing in the electrification and decarbonization of the energy sector with a strong emphasis on technology, industry, and utilities.

Our teams in Zurich oversee various thematic investment funds including mobility, materials, water, circular economy, and biodiversity. Robeco's thematic teams, based in Switzerland and the Netherlands, are recognized leaders in thematic investing. The team comprises 25 investment professionals with ambitious plans for business expansion.

Your primary responsibilities:

  • Analyze financial statements, research reports, and engage with senior management of listed companies to assess stock values
  • Conduct sector and theme research, analyzing market trends to formulate informed opinions
  • Continuously identify compelling investment prospects
  • Collaborate with sustainability experts to address challenges and seize opportunities
  • Present investment ideas to the portfolio management team
  • Assist client portfolio managers and sales channels in promoting the investment strategy

Requirements:

  • A degree in finance or a science-related field with finance qualifications
  • CFA or equivalent investment degree, with a strong grasp of asset management terminology
  • 3-5 years of experience as a fundamental equity analyst in an international financial institution
  • Experience in industries like renewables, utilities, industry, or technology
  • Knowledge of ESG-related investment analysis is advantageous
  • Proficiency in English, other languages are a plus
