As a Head Medical Affairs Oncology, you will play a key role and will be a member of the GSK Medical Leadership team.

The role reports directly into the Country Medical Director Switzerland.


The Head Medical Affairs Oncology will actively contribute to reaching the GSK goals by giving strategic medical input into the product development, planning, supervising and executing medical-scientific activities.

Together with the team, the function establishes a successful and sustainable liaison with external medical community and life cycle management.


The Head Medical Affairs for Oncology is a critical role, accountable for the development and the execution of the country specific Medical Affairs strategic and operational Brand plans and leads and develops a high performing Oncology Medical Affairs team (MSE, MSLs).

The Head Medical Affairs role will provide overall leadership for Oncology Medical Affairs activities within the country, including:

  • Recruitment, development, capability building and effective deployment of the Oncology medical team
  • Ensure high quality Prelaunch medical plans and tracking executions of prelaunch activities to gain insights from stakeholders, understand the patient journey and therapeutic landscape across Switzerland.
  • Ensure the development of the medical part of the local integrated brand strategies for launched products throughout the lifecycle, informed by customer insights and in line with global strategy.
  • Ensure close strategic partnerships with external experts (stakeholders) and collaboration in clinical trials, Early Access Programs and Real World Evidence generation projects.
  • Medical governance and compliance oversight and ensure execution of management monitoring for Oncology focused Medical activities.
  • Ensure and enable medical commercial collaboration in Strategic Account Planning.

Due to the local reach of this role, it will ideally be based in Muenchenbuchsee or Zug, Switzerland. Flexible working is available, travel (up to 30%) may be required.

_ Key responsibilities:
_


  • Ensure getting deep insights on how our science is perceived, understand the current medical scientific gaps and needs and shaping health outcomes that benefit patients.
  • Recruit and directly manage the high performance of the medical team in the country, ensuring a clear focus on priority activities in line with local strategy, assessing performance and providing ongoing coaching and development.
  • Partner within European Area Medical Affairs to develop Oncology Medical strategy; create and execute plans locally:
  • Ensure the creation of the Swiss medical strategy based on the Swiss specific insights and needs related to Swissmedic approved labels,
  • Track and support execution of all country level Oncology Medical activities within their designated scope, schedule, and resources,
  • Support participation in clinical research trials (collaborate with Clin Ops in GSK Germany) and Real World evidence generation across the continuum (clinical trials, Investigator sponsored research, Collaborative studies and Named Patient Programs, VEO),
  • Support External Experts and advocate relationship development and maintenance within Switzerland.
  • Partner with Market Access, Commercial, Regulatory ad P2P with Oncology Business Director to ensure ONE GSK approach.
  • Drive unwavering compliant work practices and support safe, ethical, appropriate use of research compounds and products.
  • Tracking the financial budget management of medical activities.
  • Performance management and capability building of the oncology medical team.

_ Why you?_

  • Advanced Degree (Ph.
D.) in a scientific, medically related or life science field.

  • MD preferred, specialty in Oncology or Haematology is a plus.
  • 4+ years relevant working experience in oncology in pharmaceutical industry.
  • State of the art knowledge in Oncology and/or Haematology.
  • Experience of creating strategic medical plans, product launches and expanded access program in Switzerland.
  • Prior experience of data generation projects: RWE from creation to publication.
  • Prior experience with commercial and/or government payers.
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of drug development, GCP and regulations.
  • Excellent people leadership qualities successful experience working in a matrix team environment to deliver solutions without directly 'owning' all the staff or solution delivery functions.
  • Strong collaboration, documentation and presentation skills, demonstrated superior verbal, written ability.
  • Understanding of market access and marketing principles and strategies.
  • Demonstrated patients and customer focus, integrity and relationship building skills,
