Become part of the team responsible for the creation of innovative new courses for teens and young learners and enjoy the opportunity to participate in all stages of the development and production process from shaping the concept and creating materials, through to final implementation across all English One regions.


The Role

Be responsible for educational content development and writing as part of the Kids and Teens Academic Design and Content team.

Create new courses for students from 2.5 to 18 years old with components including teachers' notes, lesson plans, classroom presentations, language-learning practice activities and assessments, among others.


Responsibilities:

  • Writing creative and engaging learning materials for use in online, offline, selfstudy and teacherled environments for students aged from 2.5 to 18 years of age.
  • Writing comprehensive and supportive accompanying teacher materials and Teacher Notes for EF Kids and Teens teachers, both online and offline.
  • Revising your submitted work based on feedback and discussions with development and copy editors to produce content of the highest quality possible.

Your day-to-day tasks:

  • Planning and creating learning material to projectspecific guidelines. This could involve (but is not limited to) creating a 'unit' or 'lesson' of content which includes teachers' notes, presentations, handouts, flashcards, student books, digital practice activities, and checklist documents.
  • Creating content with a frequently changing set of tools and software such as Adobe Experience Manager, InDesign, and Storyblok.
  • Receiving and acting on feedback from Development Editors on your work, to ensure alignment with other writers to achieve the goals of a project and to ensure students and teachers are set up for success.
  • Receiving and acting on stylistic feedback from Copy Editors on your work, to ensure alignment with all writers on a project and consistency across all materials.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • You have 4+ years of working experience in ESL/EFL, teaching children.
  • You have an understanding of the difference between early learners, young learners and teens, and their needs in the classroom.
  • You have a broad knowledge of various methods of teaching English to nonnative speakers.
  • You have a TEFL Qualification (CELTA equivalent or above).
  • You have at least a Bachelor's degree.
  • You ideally have working experience in educational content writing and/or content development.
  • You possess an exceptional standard of written and spoken English.

You possess excellent pedagogic knowledge of the ESL classroom and are able to turn that knowledge into practical and engaging content for teachers and students to utilise in their own learning environments.

You work well with others and are able to collaborate in all aspects of content creation (from initial planning, to making and editing content) to ensure your work is of the highest quality.

You work well under pressure and are able to manage your time effectively to meet deadlines.

You are responsive to constructive feedback and able to internalise this to adapt content to its best version possible for your end users.

In addition, you keep yourself up to date with developments in TESOL best practice and materials writing to ensure your content is always of relevance to your customers.
