The trainee program allows you to immerse yourself in three different departments, take on responsibility in new projects every six months and collaborate with different teams. Help develop our GenAI Competence Center and drive a climate-friendly future with AI technologies

The optimal start for your professional future The traineeship starts on October 1, 2024 and is limited to 18 months with the option of a permanent position.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • During the traineeship, you will make an active contribution to day-to-day business and take on responsibility in ongoing projects from day one.
  • You work on operational and strategic issues
  • Piloting and implementation of various (Gen)AI use cases (no-code to high-code)
  • Support in setting up the GenAI competence center
  • Master stakeholder management and bring all stakeholders together to advance the application-oriented use of AI across the group.
  • Share your knowledge and support the implementation of training courses and webinars
  • Your first assignment will take place in the AI ​​team at Group IT, the following ones will then take place directly in the Trading & Sales, Division Grid, Hydro or Nuclear divisions or at our subsidiary CKW in Lucerne. An assignment abroad is also generally possible
Profile & Skills:
  • Completed master's degree in a technical field (graduated within the last two years)
  • Basic software engineering knowledge
  • Experience in the AI ​​sector is an advantage
  • Hunger for knowledge and team spirit to find new solutions for the energy transition and technological developments together
  • Good analytical and pragmatic thinking
  • Hands-on mentality and confident demeanor
  • High willingness to take responsibility, initiative and flexibility
  • First professional experience as an intern or working student

You will become part of the 16th generation of trainees, with whom you will meet regularly for events. In the area of ​​artificial intelligence, we want to quickly gain experience with new technologies so that we can use them to our benefit. On the one hand, we recently launched a competence center for generative AI, which will deal with the technological innovations surrounding the technology and gradually introduce them into daily business. On the other hand, various teams at Axpo are already working with classic AI models, for example to automatically evaluate drone images or to automatically predict machine and market behavior.
