Head of Economics and Business Studies

Purpose

To have overall responsibility for the secondary school Economics and Business Studies curriculum at International School of Zurich North.

Key Accountabilities

· Experience of teaching both GCSE and A-Level Economics and / or Business Studies is essential.

· To seek to achieve the highest standards of teaching, learning and assessment.

· To lead the development and review of stimulating, creative and well-resourced schemes of work which inspire intellectual curiosity and develop academic rigour whilst being in tune with the needs and abilities of all students.

· To pay close attention to curriculum developments and changed with the relevant examination boards.

· To line mange the one other member of the department

· To contribute to the co-curricular life of the school.

Safeguarding Responsibilities

· To comply with safeguarding policies, procedures and code of conduct

· To demonstrate a personal commitment to safeguarding and student/colleague wellbeing

· To ensure that any safeguarding concerns or incidents are reported appropriately in line with policy.

· To engage in safeguarding training when required.

Qualifications

· Undergraduate degree

Skills

· Strong organisational skills

· Proven track record of high standards and expectations.

· Experience of strategic planning.

· Competence and confidence in the use of IT.
