Your responsibilities:

The lab of Environmental and Evolutionary Microbiology has an open postdoctoral position for a microbial community modeler.

The major aim is to develop and validate computational models to describe community growth on the foundations of bacterial physiology and interspecific interactions.

In particular, we aim to focus on growth and development of soil communities in both spatial and well-mixed context, as a function of resource variability.


Your qualifications:

  • Good publication record (at least one firstauthor publication in a reputable, international peerreviewed journal)
  • Good writing and presentation skills
  • Curious and open mind with high motivation to excel in science
  • Collaborative and supportive esprit
  • Strong background in mathematics and computational models, in particular consumerresource models under inclusion of interspecific interactions.
  • Affinity to microbiology
  • Fluent in Matlab and R
