Job Description

The Internal Communication and Events Manager plays a crucial role in fostering a united and well-informed environment at SMG. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communication & Public Affairs, this part-time position focuses on enhancing internal communication and reinforcing organizational culture through well-planned and efficiently executed internal events.
The ideal candidate will ensure all team members are kept up to date on company progress and stay engaged through strategic communication efforts and corporate events.
This role involves collaborating effectively across all SMG departments to meet communication objectives and successfully oversee company events.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to boost employee engagement and ensure everyone is informed about company advancements
  • Organize and oversee all aspects of internal events, including town hall meetings and annual celebrations
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure event success by managing budgets, schedules, and vendor relationships
  • Supervise the production of internal communication materials such as newsletters, emails, and intranet updates
  • Create compelling content for internal communication channels, ensuring clarity, brand consistency, and message alignment
  • Gather and analyze employee feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and events
  • Provide reports on event results and communication campaign impacts, offering insights and suggestions for enhancement
  • This position requires a flexible approach to work hours, particularly around event dates. The expectation is to fulfill the responsibilities within the part-time scope, focusing efforts on high-impact initiatives and potential peak periods
Qualifications
  • Holder of a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in internal communications, public relations, or event management
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication abilities; proficient in delivering information effectively and creatively
  • Proficient in English (corporate language)
  • Familiarity with digital communication tools
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with a proven track record of managing multiple projects and deadlines concurrently
  • Team player who can collaborate effectively with different management levels and staff
  • Able to think strategically and consolidate diverse inputs into coherent strategies
  • Flexible, adaptable to changes
  • Strong attention to detail and a dedication to delivering quality work
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a proactive approach
