Description

The Sr Costing Analyst position will support accurate and reliable financials/reporting of the site. The position works closely within the Controlling team to understand issues and how they impact the financial results and educate/inform department(s) on cost drivers and variances. This position supports the monthly and yearly closing activities, budgeting, and related reporting.

​The primary responsibility is to assist in maintaining the integrity of RAI entity SAP managerial accounting master data and utilizing SAP to perform monthly production, closing, and cost center reporting activities. This role is critical to supporting the timely and accurate creation of variable margin and fixed cost calculations based on the P&L (profit and loss) statements.

Responsibilities include :

Support the completion of monthly and yearly closing activities. Plans, studies, and collects data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, goods and services purchases (external services and maintenance), inventory, labor, and overheads. Participates in Bill of Material (BOM) / Recipe set up, maintenance, and review for manufactured items. Calculates the cost of production by assessing the input costs of each step of production and fixed costs. Assists in maintaining the SAP cost structure to allocate costs to manufactured products. Analyzes production costs, production efficiencies, yields, budgeting, and variance analysis. Monitors and analyzes manufacturing variances and assists in the efficient operation of the plant operation. Key Performance Indicator Reporting. Participate in manufacturing performance meetings. Supports Operations in preparing expense budgets/forecasts and analyzing monthly departmental expense results and variances; develops control measures to meet expectations. Assists in preparing the monthly reporting package highlighting financial performance results, including analysis of key trends and variance drivers impacting performance. Analyzes expense reports and works with Cost Center owner to manage costs. Identify and communicate trends or problems. Assists department managers and operations staff; responds to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs. Assists in the preparation of the RAI legal entity monthly reporting (management report extracted from the digital tool). Support the annual budgeting process. Ensures all accounting entries are timely, accurate, and comply with the corporate directives. Makes necessary corrections and adjustments to receive accurate report information. Maintains master data integrity; facilitates and oversees changes relating to cost centers, allocations, and assessments. Assists the tables of accounts and assigns entries to proper accounts. Works and supports directly with external auditors during the annual year-end audit. Participates in continuous improvement initiatives at the plant. Assists in the Integrated SAP preparation and implementation and other special projects as needed

Qualifications:

Education: BS/BA degree preferably in Finance or Accounting or Business Administration Experience: previous experience (minimum 5-7 years) in finance-related activities

Specific requirements:

Knowledge of SAP or other ERP-type product costing system in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Good understanding of management accounting and have worked in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of IFRS. Experience with management accounting and financial analysis. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process. Experience with external audit activities and external auditor requirements. A team player and a collaborator.
