Senior Laboratory Scientist

Our Drug Product Services department will provide best-in-class services for parenteral dosage forms for several drug classes, and provide a one-stop-shop for all clinical outsourcing requirements.

As a Senior Laboratory Scientist in the area of cGMP analytical testing within Drug Product Services, you can be at the heart of it, right from the start. You will get a firsthand overview of processes under GxP in the pharmaceutical industry and get in touch with novel analytical techniques for biomolecules.

Key responsibilities:

  • Independently executes routine/ validation phys-chem assays (e.g compendial/content/identity/purity for small molecules, biologics/large molecules and related entities) in QC under cGMP following applicable SOPs and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) in a right first time and timely manner.
  • Executes/reviews/approves basic operational tasks in the lab (e.g mobile phase preparations, calibration of pH meter, balance)
  • Assists in investigation/troubleshooting lab equipment issues by proactively driving the investigation and proposing mitigation measures
  • Ensures lab clean/maintenance (inventory/consumables management process, 6S) to cGMP standards for audit readiness and supportsonsite customer/regulatory audits.
  • Oversees maintenance/requalification of lab equipment (Cat A, B and C) as Instrument Responsible Person (IRP) and supports draft/update of instrument SOPs
  • Participates and initiates as a member in laboratory operational optimization and process improvement initiatives.
  • Trainer to conduct and review compendial/none purity methods and purity/identity/content methods in the laboratory
  • Onboarding of new Scientists/Senior Scientists.

Key requirements:

  • Training on the job as a lab technician (FZZ, HF, CTA, BTA, PTA or BSc.)
  • Working experience in a research/ technical role in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry, in analytical quality testing (QC)
  • Demonstrable experience working in a cGMP-regulated environment in phys-chem analytics.
  • Advanced scientific knowledge of phys-chem analytics performed in the lab.
  • Experience with laboratory specific software (e.g. Empower, LIMS-system) is advantageous.
  • Experience in reporting, interpretation, and documentation of scientific results
  • Good communication and inter-personal skills; Ability to work independently in a team
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English
