Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate purification procedures for proteins and nucleic acids by chromatography and other DSPrelevant techniques
  • Develop and execute assays to improve our understanding of enzyme function and focus enzyme improvement efforts
  • Investigate implementation of analytical procedures to assess quality and quantity of purified products
  • Work independently and as part of a collaborative team to design, plan, and execute experiments to facilitate in vitro and in vivo evaluation of nucleic acid batches
  • Proper documentation of experiments and data into an electronic laboratory journal

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master Degree or higher in a relevant field with 1 to 4 years of industrial experience
  • Track record of engineering or improving proteins using structural biology or directed evolution approaches
  • Demonstrated ability to develop biochemical assays
  • Experience with downstream process development using DoE, ideally with handson experience on DSP unit operations like IEX chromatography and UF/DF
  • Handson experience with preparative chromatography systems (like Äkta systems)
  • Good understanding of quality criteria related to DSP of proteins and nucleic acids
  • Strong written and verbal communicator in English
