We are seeking an Analytics Intern to become part of the global Commercial Insurance team. In this role, you will:

  • Solve impactful business challenges with a focus on Financial Lines Underwriting, such as understanding claims drivers, portfolio optimization, and enhancing risk selection,
  • Be a key member of a dynamic global team that embraces entrepreneurship and dares to challenge the norm,
  • Develop and promote the adoption of our primary global Financial Lines Underwriting analytical product suite,
  • Enhance your technical skills through collaboration with internal and external experts.

What you will do

As an Analytics Intern, your core duties will include:

  • Working on high-impact projects with end-to-end accountability for their success,
  • Experimenting with cloud-based technology to address specific business issues,
  • Creating applications valued by both internal and external users, ranging from proof of concepts to comprehensive solutions; from senior management portfolio applications to APIs integrated into core Underwriting processes,
  • Direct coordination with product managers and application users globally, with a focus on adoption.

What you bring

As an intern in the Global Commercial Insurance Analytics Team, you are likely to have:

  • Strong familiarity with Commercial Financial Lines business in Europe, particularly Director's Officers, Professional Indemnity, and Cyber,
  • Knowledge of the insurance IT landscape and common reporting suites,
  • Proficiency in coding with Python and R,
  • Experience in project management,
  • Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills, with the ability to multitask and strong analytical capabilities,
  • A collaborative team player dedicated to adding value to a team,
  • Interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships across all organizational levels,
  • Enrolled in a bachelor's program or equivalent,
  • Previous experience in a similar coordination role within an organization,
  • Effective communication skills in both written and verbal interactions,
  • Ability to collaborate across different regions and time zones to achieve group and individual objectives,
  • Proficient in standard software such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and Office tools,
  • Proactive, customer-focused, and accountable,
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and German (additional languages are advantageous).
