Cost Control Lead

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Cost Control Lead to join our team in Switzerland and contribute to a significant Pharma construction project. In this position, you will be part of a highly skilled and motivated team, collaborating on large-scale projects for well-known international clients.

As a Cost Control Lead, your primary responsibility is to manage cost control processes, supervise costs and cost reporting throughout various project phases. The key objective is to monitor budgets, commitments, expenses, and forecasts, as well as to aid in the creation and evaluation of cost estimates and schedules for the Building Program and its associated projects.

The key responsibilities encompass, among others:

  • Establishing and managing cost reports, ensuring consistent reporting standards across the project portfolio while considering both Capital Expenditure (Capex) and Operational Expenditure (Opex) costs.
  • Analyzing and integrating cost estimates and forecasts from contractors and suppliers, supporting the cost estimation procedure.
  • Ensuring accurate documentation and communication of changes to anticipate their likelihood.
  • Supervising invoice processing to guarantee timely invoice submission for payment.
  • Assessing the cost ramifications of changes, integrating approved changes into the project control budget and current cost projection.
  • Verifying that the project cost report accurately represents the value of approved changes and that the final projected cost includes all approved alterations.
  • Developing, monitoring, and managing comprehensive Monthly Project Cost Reports.
  • Addressing ad hoc requests for data, data analysis, and presentation materials.
  • Providing support to other Cost Controllers when necessary.
Qualifications
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or an equivalent field is mandatory.
  • Extensive experience in Cost engineering, with a background in High-Tech & Manufacturing, Life Sciences, or Oil & Gas industries.
  • Prior involvement in sizable projects is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects or assignments effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English and preferably German as well.
